Our Background

Twenty-three sorors of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® that resided in the
Hartsville area united to strengthen the chain of our National organization. On
August 9, 2003 in Hartsville, South Carolina, Chi Lambda Omega Chapter became a
reality under the direction of Soror Irene McCollum, Regional Director with the
following charter members.

*Ivy Beyond the Wall

Our beloved Soror, Antonette Wilkins, became an Ivy Beyond the Wall before Chi Lambda Omega Chapter was chartered. Our annual scholarship was named in her honor.

Through a variety of philanthropic and social activities, Chi Lambda Omega inspires its members to adopt important values such as leadership, empathy and ambition, and to always strive for excellence.

Since 2003, members have upheld these values through academic success, philanthropy, character development and solid relationship-building skills. Our members are actively involved in many events throughout the year, allowing them to create lifelong bonds and consistently give back to the community.
